Up and coming golfer, Michael Lane, from Davyhulme has just received a joint sponsorship deal from K2L and Altrincham Scrap Metal giants J Davidson.
The 20 year old, turned pro last September after 9 years playing as a junior member at Davyhulme Park Golf club. As a junior he won many accolades, including; junior North West Match play champion; North West Junior Best Gross, and the millennium trophy as well as holding the Junior Captain position at DPGC.
On turning Pro Michael has signed up with the PGA & Birmingham University to undertake a three year undergraduate degree course in professional golf which will see him qualify as a teaching pro. In order to gain entry to the course Michael had to secure a position as an assistant golf professional assigned to a golf club. This he has done and is currently working as the assistant pro at Dunham Forest Golf club in Altrincham.
The sponsorship deal will help support Michael through his first year as a professional golfer, enabling him to enter professional competitions, upgrade his equipment and help fund traveling.
He is currently busy entering professional competitions throughout the North West, working at Dunham Forrest as the assistant pro as well as studying for an undergraduate degree in golf, and somewhere in between all that, he’s on the course honing his game.
