On 13th April 2014, approximately 36,000 runners took to the sun-bathed streets of London to take part in arguably the best marathon in the world. In amongst these runners, and taking in some of the iconic sites of our capital, was K2L Director, Scott.
After accomplishing the Manchester Marathon last year, Scott’s goal was to beat his time, which he did…by 2 minutes! He finished the race in a respectable 4 hours 46 minutes, somewhat off the pace set by the elite runners, but a huge achievement nonetheless!
Scott’s raised over £1500 for the dedicated charity of K2L, Salford-based St. Ann’s Hospice, so a massive thank you to all who sponsored him. The money will be put to great use in helping to care for the 3000 patients and their families that the charity looks after every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life-limiting illnesses.
When asked if he’d run another marathon, Scott said he’s thinking about it…perhaps the New York Marathon will be next on the agenda. Now fully recovered, he’s enjoying having some free time back and a break from the training.
