After the successes of last year, completing both the Manchester 10K and the Manchester Marathon, Director, Scott Kennedy has set himself his next challenge – running the London Marathon.
With just 3 months to go, Scott has (begun!) his training in earnest in order to be fully prepared on the start line on Sunday 13th April. There will be tens of thousands of athletes taking part and the iconic race will be televised in over 150 countries – no pressure Scott! The start line of the gruelling 26.4 miles is located in Greenwich Park and the course tracks along the river Thames taking in world famous sites such as the Cutty Sark, Docklands, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf and Big Ben. At the 26 mile point, runners are treated to a glimpse of Buckingham Palace and probably more importantly at this stage, the finishing line comes into sight!
Scott is running to raise money for the Salford based charity, St. Ann’s Hospice. The charity cares for 3000 patients and their families every year who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses.
With a minimum target of £1500, we hope you can show your support for Scott and this fantastic charity by digging deep and donating on Scott’s Just Giving page.
We’ll keep you updated on how he gets on and would like to thank you in advance. Good luck Scott!
