Food For Champions

Services

When K2L joined forces with fellow Salford-based Salford City Council, the challenge was to shine a spotlight on their Food for CHAMPiONS initiative. Led by the council’s Citywide Services division, the programme provides nutritious meals to primary and secondary school children across the city, with a mission to show how a balanced diet contributes to better physical health, cognitive development, and overall wellbeing.

They wanted to reach and connect with children and families in a way that made healthy eating feel relevant and real, showing how good food fuels learning, boosts energy, and builds habits that last. And, ultimately, encouraging more families to see school meals as not just convenient, but the smart choice.

As a local agency with proven experience in nutrition-led initiatives, K2L knew how to make the message land. We created a suite of engaging materials designed to resonate with young people and their families – from colourful worksheets and bold posters to sticker books that made learning about food fun. To extend the campaign beyond the classroom, we built a complementary digital rollout across brand, web, and social channels to make sure the message reached families right across the city.
